National Fruit Cocktail Day

Today is National Fruit Cocktail Day. This holiday celebrates fruits which is a main part of a healthy diet. Fruits contain fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that are important for health and help fight illnesses. Fruit cocktails are usually made with heavy syrups and can contain high amounts of sugar but a healthy fruit cocktail can be made with water or juice instead of syrup.
